The Senior Manager, Retail Production, Product Development & Sourcing, has a vital role within the Barry’s Retail Team Organization. They will be responsible for developing strong and effective relationships with different business partners by bringing deep category and industry expertise, continuously driving process improvements. Working closely with cross-functional teams to support the efforts to optimize indirect procurement/sourcing activities. The Senior Manager, Retail Production, Product Development & Sourcing position requires a highly resourceful individual with strong relationship-building, self-motivating, analytical, and sourcing skills. They will assist in managing relationships with existing business partners, but work on sourcing additional companies to assist in executing Barry’s vision across the Retail team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Retail Team to source, develop and deliver seasonal collections for Barry’s private label, marketing prizes, and other products needed
  • Oversee and manage all sourcing, product development and production for Barry’s private label collection, performance and full package products and screen-printing. Product categories include but are not limited to:
    • Women’s and men’s performance and lifestyle product
    • Seasonal accessories (hats, bags, socks, etc)
    • Blank wholesale brands
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers for quality, compliance and capability to develop custom fabrics, cut and sew, screen printing, trims and accessories
    • Manage the PLM software (Backbone) and production WIP’s for suppliers
    • Understanding / creation of tech packs
  • Collaborate with the Retail Team to manage manufacturing timelines to meet the needs of deliveries and new studio openings
    • Manage blank apparel inventory for new studio openings
  • Manage the calendar and delivery dates for various vendors
  • Track and catalog pre-production samples, and lab dip/fabric books – ensuring all samples are well-organized, correctly labeled, & easy to access
  • Manage trim inventory and reorder labels and hangtags when needed

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years previous product development or production experience
  • PLM software knowledge
  • Work experience with athletic apparel / vendor management
  • Team player with great oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to details and deadlines
  • Familiar with production life cycle
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Self starter, capable of problem-solving and suggesting solutions
  • Familiar with screen printing, heat transfers and other embellishment techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of physical manufacturing, printing, design and pre-press
  • Must have strong work ethic, the desire to learn and grow with the company
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be available to work at our corporate HQ in Los Angeles, CA

The salary for this position is $80,000-$85,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
